Michael Upton (Jet Jaguar) I haven't heard much stuff that goes from straight field recordings to rhythmic edits to more electronic moments and certainly nothing recently that does it this well. A kind of an heir to early Matmos or I guess label boss Matthew Herbert, but this has its own character too.

about

Accidental Records is proud to announce Austrian DJ, musician and producer Fabian Holzinger aka Abby Lee Tee is back with a new record “Cohabiting Species”, a co-release with Linz based Shash Records, following his well-reviewed “Riverside Burrows” in 2017.

After releases on Dinzu Artefacts and Czaszka Records (recently “Imaginary Friends II”) and numerous collaboration projects, Abby Lee Tee’s evolving solo material follow his sonic narrational instinct and his passion for cultivating obscure field recordings and unusual instruments.

“Cohabiting Species” is an EP of two movements - “A” and “B” - to appreciate listening after listening. Two healing, hypnotic soundtracks that immerse you in layers of field recordings, alienated acoustic instruments and exceptional arrangements: a cinematic journey exploring the boundaries of human perceptions of nature and music, intermediate worlds full of elusive percussion, jittery sparrows, running waters, drumming hail, seesawing seagulls, rumbling pebbles, splintering ice, disfigured jaw harps, shruti box drones and warily inserted synth miniatures.
